Let Your Voice Be Heard in Philadelphia

As you may have heard the School Reform Commission last month voted to dissolve itself at the end of the 2017-18 school year. As a result, the Philadelphia Mayor will appoint nine individuals to serve on the School District of Philadelphia’s Board of Education.

Mayor Jim Kenney recently launched the webpage “Share what you want in your schools” to solicit feedback from Philadelphia residents to “share what [they] think is important for [the Board of Education Nominating Panel] to know as they make recommendations for the Board [of Education].”

We are encouraging all Franklin Towne Charter families to participate in this survey to make it known that the charter school community must be represented on both the Nominating Panel and Board of Education.

Please feel free to share the above link via email and social media so charter school students, parents, friends, families and supporters have a say about and a voice on the new Board of Education that will oversee the City’s school district.

Thank you.
