My name is Ms. Maberry and I will be your new Kindergarten teacher! I am so excited to start the new school year and get to meet and know all of you. This year will be filled with learning new things and meeting new friends.
I grew up in South Jersey with and graduated with my bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA in 2001.
I spent 6 years teaching Pre-K and working in administration at KinderCare Learning Centers. I have been part of the Franklin Towne family for 8 years. I was an Instructional Aide in a Kindergarten Classroom for the first 2 years, and now I am going into my 6th year as the teacher in K3.
This year our classroom is moving to a monthly homework journal! At the beginning of each month a homework choice chart will be sent home with your student. Student's should complete the assigned number of assignments during the month, recording their work in their journal. Please return the homework sheet and the journal on the due date, and you will receive a new choice chart at the beginning of the next month!
Your students will also be coming home with a nightly reading log. Please record the date, name of book, and how many minutes read each night. Students should be reading or being read to each night. Additionally, we will be sending home sight word lists with your student- please make sure they are practicing these words every night as it helps build their reading fluency!
UPDATE! OUR PROJECT HAS BEEN FULLY FUNDED! Thank you so much to all who donated!
We should receive our new classroom rug, bean bag chairs, and centers organizer within the next month!
