This is the image for the news article titled Most Recent Parent Communication Hello, Towne family!

I would like to start by thanking our school community for their cooperation and support this week. No matter what life throws at us, I hope you all know that the overall safety and well-being of each one of our students is our #1 priority and that will always be the case.

I would like to give a special shout-out to all our students who took time to run for Student Council. These middle school students spent meaningful time making their campaign posters, handing out pins/flyers, and having the courage to deliver their speech this week. Franklin Towne Elementary is in good hands and I look forward to seeing who is chosen as our student-body school leaders.

A few things to mention as we head into our final week of September!

Safe2Say: Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. Safe2Say is included on the main page of our school website.

After-School Clubs: Clubs will be returning this year and will begin the week of October 23rd. There will be three (3) cycles this year and each cycle will last for six (6) weeks. More information will be sent out for those interested in joining one of our after-school clubs.

PSSA Scores: We are in the process of organizing all the PSSA information that was recently released. Students in grades 4-8 can expect to receive their PSSA scores from the 2022-2023 academic year within the next week or two.

Fall Portraits: Fall portraits are scheduled to take place on October 4th and 5th. A flyer will be sent home with your student(s) next week.

Nurse Health Screenings: These will begin the week of October 2nd. A scoliosis opt-out letter to 6th and 7th grade students will be sent out next week.

Spirit Week: Next week is Spirit Week. You can find a full Spirit Week schedule HERE. For your House
Color dress down, students are permitted to wear their color and it does not need to be a Towne T-Shirt.

Back to School Night: Thank you to all of those who took time out of their day to attend our Back to School Night events. It's always a pleasure seeing our parents in the building. I know not a lot of 1:1 time was provided, feel free to email your child’s teacher or administration at your convenience.

Late Pick-Up: Effective Monday, September 25th, if you arrive late to pick your child up after school, you will be required to sign your child out at the main lobby. There will be a binder there for you to complete this requirement. This is for safety reasons, and we appreciate your cooperation in advance. Please do not just knock on the window and wave to your child to leave.

Thank you all for your continued support and giving us the opportunity to play a role in your child’s education.
