A Message to Our Towne Families

Dear FTCES Families,

As our 1st marking period closes, we wanted to reach out to all our Franklin Towne families and thank you for all of your hard work.  Our teachers are confident that we are providing the best remote learning education possible and feel that the students are learning and adapting very well.

In an effort to maintain consistency and to promote positivity at Towne, staff will be issuing merit points daily to students who exemplify what it means to be a Towne student.  Each grade level has created various ways to earn merits and teachers will share that information with students.  Students will be entered into a raffle for every 5 merits earned and we will also hold a monthly raffle for our merit earners each month.  Raffle prizes will include Towne apparel, dress down certificates, books, gift cards to local places, Amazon gift cards, and other fun prizes. We will be holding our first raffle on Monday, November 30th. Additionally, start checking our website.  We will be posting students who make Honor Roll, Student of the Week, and other accolades.

As we move forward into the second quarter, we want to offer our students opportunities to participate and socialize outside of the classroom.  On Wednesday afternoons, each faculty member will host a fun activity for approximately 45 minutes between 2:15 pm and 3:00 pm.  These activities will provide an opportunity for students to meet with other students in their grade outside of their normal Zoom groups, in a non-educational setting.  Signing up will be voluntary for the students but everyone is encouraged to try out one of the offerings.   Activities will include eGames, virtual board games, trivia games, Pictionary, directed drawing, book clubs, etc.   We are hoping to have our first activity on Wednesday, December 2nd.   Additional information will be sent to the students/families with further details.  Hosting this opportunity will create adjustment to the Wednesday class schedule for students in grades 3-8.  A revised Wednesday schedule along with adjusted Zoom class session links will be sent by the beginning of December

Again, we want to thank you for your hard work and support now and throughout the entire school year.  We are confident that we can continue this forward progress as we move deeper into the school year.  Thank you for your support and we hope everyone remains safe at home.

                                                                                 Sincerely,

FTCES Administration
